To paint against the anger of those who claim to censor the lack of make-up, of those who are still scandalized by nudity, and more so if the bodies are ordinary, natural, and alien to the canons of a supposed aesthetic perfection.
In an attempt to represent women exempt from guilt and sin, free of shame and complexes, confident, natural, self-reliant …, empowered. Women who are frightening because they decide their way of being, fleeing from moral conventions and traditional roles.
In an attempt also to capture an instant, as if it were the frame of a sequence, to freeze an unrepeatable motion. This unique and sublime moment elapses over a universe of continuous color in unforeseen and artificial tones, where the shadows and the background merge anarchically contaminating the volumes and forms. Only the light and the reflection of the sea shape the images, building unconnected fragments close to the expressionistic and gestural abstraction where the scent of the Mediterranean is always felt.
And all this with desire as the driving force, as the beginning and end of all things, with the pleasure of capturing something foreign and valuable that leads us to the pursuit of self-satisfaction and shared satisfaction. Desire also becomes the spokesperson of ourselves, it takes us away from planned life and brings us closer to improvisation and the unexpected. When the desire ends, fear, loneliness, dissatisfaction and death begin.
